Tijuana Food Marathon: pig snout at Carnitas Cabrera

Cochon 555, the traveling, pig-centric competition, will finally come to Los Angeles for the first time.

The roving contest, which features five chefs in each city preparing a nose-to-tail menu from heritage breed pigs, kicks off its 10-city tour in New York in January 2011. The tour winds its way from Boston, Seattle, Napa, D.C, Chicago and Denver before making it to L.A. on May 1st. However, it won't come cheap; tickets start at $125.

The Los Angeles location and chefs have yet to be announced. Let the speculation (and the speck) begin!
