The U.K. team of Adam & Joe have been beloved by an entire generation of young, pop culture–savvy comedy fans for some time now, from their irreverent Channel 4 series in the 1990s through to their recent, hilarious radio programs on BBC 6 Music. While Joe Cornish earned considerable acclaim in the United States and elsewhere last year for directing cult horror favorite Attack the Block, his partner in crime Adam Buxton remains slightly less well-known, which is all the more reason to hightail it to the Downtown Independent this week for Best of BUG: The Evolution of Music Video. Originating as a biweekly showcase at the BFI Southbank in London, Buxton's celebration of “global creativity in music video” is sure to dazzle with imagination and no small helping of quick-witted humor, particularly in the clips of his own making. For a sampling, check out Buxton's YouTube channel for giggles at youtube.com/user/AdamBuxton. Downtown Independent, 251 S. Main St., dwntwn.; Thurs., Feb. 2, 8:30 p.m.; $15.
