Male Victim Dead after Rollover Collision near Avenue B

LANCASTER, CA (May 10, 2022) – Tuesday evening, Clifton Vial and Vanessa Aguilar were hurt, and one was killed in a crash on Sierra Highway.

Around 8:03 p.m., dispatchers responded to the scene just south of Avenue B.

The driver of a 2017 Nissan Sentra was heading north on Sierra Highway, when they entered the southbound lane in attempt to pass vehicles.

Investigators say the Nissan driver passed a 2008 Honda Pilot before colliding head-on with a 2004 Toyota 4-Runner. The impact caused both vehicles to overturn.

The Nissan driver was not wearing a seat-belt at the time, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Crews only described him as a 29-year-old man from Inglewood.

Meanwhile, the Toyota’s driver, 62-year-old Vial of Rosamond, sustained moderate injuries, including a broken left big toe.

The Honda driver, 28-year-old Aguilar and her 39-year-old female passenger, both from Rosamond, also sustained moderate injuries.

At this time, no further details have been provided.
