56-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead Following Vehicle vs Pedestrian Collision near East 26th Street

TUCSON, AZ (March 9, 2023) – Late Saturday night, Clifford Wayne Haskins was killed after being struck by a vehicle. The incident happened on March 4th shortly after 11:00 p.m. South Craycroft Road near East 26th Street. Investigation showed that 56-year-old Haskins was crossing mid-block on Craycroft when he was struck by a white 2006 Ford Focus traveling northbound. Furthermore, the driver of the Ford immediately stopped and called for the police. The driver was assessed and did not show any signs of impairment. Consequently, the driver was not charged or given any citations. Haskins was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in serious condition where he later died. Following the crash, the officers stated that Haskins crossing mid-block was a major factor in the crash. An active investigation is currently underway.
