Jacqueline Avant, the wife of Rock and Roll hall of Fame inductee Clarence Avant, was reportedly shot and killed during a robbery at their Beverly Hills home.

According to TMZ, police responded to the incident at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, but Avant was already rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead.

the incident occurred at the Trousdale Estates, with a security guard also being shot during the home invasion and did not return fire.

Clarence Avant was home during the shooting, but was reportedly not injured.

No description of the suspect has been given and Beverly Hills Police will hold a pres conference regarding the incident at a later time.

Clarence Avant, 90, is known as the “Godfather of Black Music,” managing several music legends such as 1950s singer Little Willie John and producer Tom Wilson.

Jacqueline, 81, was known for her philanthropy, serving as president of the Neighbors of Watts.
