4:15 p.m.: Reports are emerging that all of Los Angeles County will be under a 6 p.m.-6 a.m. curfew tonight, even as multiple protests are already organized for the rest of the day.

2:50 p.m.: Saturday saw more protests throughout the region, with marchers peacefully gathering at the Santa Monica Pier at noon. Following incidents of looting around 2 p.m., the city of Santa Monica announced it would be imposing a 4 p.m. curfew.

A demonstration supported by the L.A. chapter of Black Lives Matter is also set for 3 p.m. outside the Long Beach Police Department headquarters.

2:09 p.m.: The LAPD advised those in downtown L.A. on Sunday afternoon that they “may want to consider leaving soon” as the department expects protests at 2 p.m. in Pershing Square.

An 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m. overnight curfew on Sunday has been implemented by Mayor Eric Garcetti. It will again apply to the entire city of Los Angeles.

A curfew covering the same hours was enacted Saturday evening in response to George Floyd protests that turned violent in Fairfax.

Garcetti blamed caravans of people “outside of the community” coming into Fairfax and inciting violence, which was a primary reason he requested the National Guard to assist law enforcement.

The National Guard will remain in the city, being stationed in areas that were affected by break-ins and fires. 

“We hope and pray they won’t be needed for very long,” Garcetti said about the National Guard.
