Tessa StuartEarlier this week, we were shaking in our seldom-used rain boots at the prospect of showers and wind this weekend. Good news! By CicLAvia Sunday the chance of precipitation drops to zero. The National Weather Service predicts it will be sunny with a high near 70 degrees. Bad news (for drivers, anyway)! Ten miles of road–from Melrose all the way to Boyle Heights, through downtown–will be closed on Sunday to accomodate the bicycling event.
The following roads will be closed:
Heliotrope Drive from Willow Brook Avenue (a block below Santa Monica) to Rosewood Avenue.
Rosewood Avenue from Heliotrope Drive to New Hampshire Avenue.
New Hampshire Avenue from Rosewood Avenue to West 4th Street.
West 4th Street from New Hampshire Avenue to Virgil Avenue.
Virgil Avenue from West 4th Street to West 6th Street.
West 6th Street from Virgil Avenue to Park View Street.
Park View Street from Virgil Avenue to West 7th Street.
West 7th Street from Park View to Spring Street.
Spring Street from West 9th Street to West 1st Street.
West 9th Street from Spring Street to S. Central Avenue.
West 1st Street from Spring Street to S. Central Avenue.
Main Street from West 1st to Caesar E. Chavez Avenue.
S. Central Avenue between West 1st Street and East 4th Street, and between Olympic and East 14th Street.
East 4th Street between S. Central Avenue and St. Louis Street.
Cars will periodically be allowed to cross the route at these intersections:
New Hampshire Avenue at Oakwood Avenue.
New Hampshire Avenue at Beverly Avenue.
New Hampshire Avenue at West 3rd Street.
Park View Street at Wilshire Boulevard.
West 7th Street at Alvarado Street.
West 7th Street at Figueroa Street.
West 7th Street at Grand Avenue.
West 7th Street at Olive Street.
West 7th Street at Broadway.
Spring Street at West 6th Street.
Spring Street at West 5th Street.
East 9th Street at Los Angeles Street.
East 9th Street at San Pedro Street.
Main Street at Temple Street.
West 1st Street at Los Angeles.
Central Avenue at 2nd Street.
East 4th Street at Alameda Street.
East 4th Street at Boyle Avenue.
