Two Killed in Fatal Crash on Blue Diamond Road in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV (May 17, 2021) Christy Marie Patinio and Zaion Hawkins died Wednesday afternoon in a crash on Blue Diamond Road.

The incident was reported near Hinson Street on May 12, at about 3:06 p.m.

According to police, a 2004 GMC Envoy was traveling eastbound on Blue Diamond Road when it entered oncoming traffic. There, it collided with a 2014 Toyota Scion traveling westbound.

During the crash, the GMC rolled over and came to rest on its driver side, facing south.

Crews confirmed that the GMC’s driver died in the crash. Meanwhile, both occupants of the Toyota were taken to the University Medical Center’s Trauma Center.

According to police, the passenger in the Toyota died as a result of her injuries at the hospital, and the driver is still in critical condition at the UMC.

Authorities are still reviewing the crash for more details. More information will be provided as soon as it is available.
