37-Year-Old Man Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Bond Street

FRESNO, CA (January 16, 2023) – Thursday night, Christopher Walker was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on Shields Avenue.

Dispatchers responded to the area just before 7:00 p.m., near Bond Street on January 5th.

Investigators say an eastbound police vehicle struck Walker on Shields Avenue. Per reports, Walker was walking south along the center median when he stepped onto the road while wearing dark colored clothing.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medical personnel later pronounced 37-year-old Walker dead at the scene.

In addition, the officer that struck him remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity. Emergency crews arrived and closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.

At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway. Once available, further details will be provided to the public.
