37-Year-Old Man Dies in Pedestrian Collision near Bond Street

FRESNO, CA (January 11, 2023) – Thursday night, a patrol car struck Christopher Walker, killing him, on Shields Avenue.

The collision happened just before 7:00 p.m., in the area of Shields Avenue and Bond Street.

According to reports, the driver of a patrol vehicle hit Walker when he stepped into the roadway after walking southbound on the center median on Shields Avenue. Fresno Police stated that Walker’s dark clothing and the inclement weather may have been contributing factors in the collision.

Due to the impact of the collision, 37-year-old Walker sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Authorities will question the officer involved and have blood drawn as part of the investigation.
