Two Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash near Interstate 10

BANNING, CA (August 8, 2022) – Friday night, Christopher Saldana and James Darnell were killed in a 2-car crash on Ramsey Street.

The incident occurred around 8:37 p.m., near the on-ramp to Interstate 10.

Under unknown circumstances, two vehicles collided in the area. As a result of the crash, firefighters on the scene had to use hydraulic tools to rescue victims who were trapped in the wreckage.

Due to the extent of their condition, officials pronounced two people dead at the scene. In addition, two others sustained major injuries. Paramedics then rushed the two injured victims to a hospital for further medical care.

California Highway Patrol later identified the  deceased victims as Saldana, 24, of Banning, and Darnell, 75, of Cabazon.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is still underway.
