Woman Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (March 18, 2021) – Saturday night on March 6, 69-year-old Christine Gonzales was killed in a pedestrian crash on Talbert Avenue.

Per reports, the crash took place around 6:55 p.m. Officers say that the driver of a gray 2015 Murano struck Gonzales while she was walking on the road.

Emergency crews located Gonzales down on the road with life-threatening injuries upon arrival. Despite life-saving efforts, she was later pronounced dead at the trauma center where she was taken.

The surrounding area on Talbert Avenue was closed during cleanup and preliminary duties. But, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.

In addition, investigators revealed that alcohol and drugs did not play a factor in the accident. Further details leading up to the crash remain unclear. However, an active investigation is still underway.
