19-Year-Old Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident near Dunton Road

STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (November 9, 2021) – Saturday night, 19-year-old Christian Rocha was fatally struck in a head-on collision on Highway 4.

The crash occurred around 6:00 p.m., just east of Dunton Road. Per reports, Rocha was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze west on the highway.

Meanwhile, 50-year-old David McLaughlin, of Arnold was driving east in a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado. In the passenger seat was 13-year-old Jace McLaughlin.

According to the CHP, Rocha was attempting to pass another vehicle and crossed double yellow solid lines into the eastbound lane. For reasons unknown, he quickly turned right, driving back into his lane.

He then overcorrected, sending the Cruze back into oncoming traffic and directly into the path of the Silverado.

Due to the impact of the crash, Rocha was pronounced dead on the spot. Minor injuries were sustained by the McLaughlins.
