The man who paraded around the nation as Clark Rockefeller but was really, as one witness said, just a “creepy” guy, was convicted today of murder.

Christian K. Gerhartsreiter, 52, was nailed for the 1985 murder of 27-year-old John Sohus, a San Marino man nice enough to give the poseur a place to stay back then.

Prosecutors believe he killed Sohus' wife too, but …

… her remains were never found.

The pair disappeared in 1985, and so did Gerhartsreiter, German national. Sohus' remains were found in 1994 in the backyard of that home, near a swimming pool.

Prosecutors stated this today:

An investigation determined he was killed by blunt force trauma to the head. He also had been stabbed several times.

Although Gerhartsreiter was not charged with Linda's murder, Balian argued to the jury that the defendant killed her, too. Linda's body has never been found.

It only took the jury less than a day to say Gerhartsreiter did it.

He faces 27 years to life during sentencing June 27.
