Chain-Reaction Collision on Main Street Resulted in Injury
HESPERIA, CA (July 25, 2023) – Monday night, a DUI collision involving five other vehicles on Highway 395 led to the arrest of Christian Jennings. Police responded to reports of a hit-and-run crash on July 17th, at around 9:00 p.m. on U.S. Highway 395 and Main Street. Upon arrival, deputies learned that a northbound red Chevrolet Silverado rear-ended a black Kia Optima while traveling at around 50 mph. Subsequently, the initial crash resulted in a chain reaction collision, involving a total of five vehicles. However, the Chevrolet driver exited his vehicle and fled the scene on foot, heading in a southeasterly direction. Eventually, officers managed to locate the suspect in the desert area, suspected to be under the influence of alcohol. After failing a Field Sobriety Test, authorities arrested 52-year-old Christian Jennings of Phelan for DUI. Paramedics transported Jennings and another person involved to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The other motorists involved did not report any further injuries.
