Simone WilsonA young Agoura Hills daredevil who listed himself online as a “professional street luger” and “inline speed skater” died just after midnight this morning in a tragic skateboarding accident.
City News Service reports that Christopher Schwartz, 29, was not wearing a helmet when he took his Dirtsurfer skateboard for a run down “a steep residential street” near the Lake Lindero Country Club. Schwartz died at the scene from head and neck injuries…
… after crashing into a parked car on Lake Lidero Drive.
In a YouTube video from December 2009, the victim can be seen riding a street luge, another kind of urban board that glides down paved roads like a sled, on a residential street. “Dont try this at home!” he writes.
Dirtsurfer boards are like skateboards, only they're slung between two BMX-style bicycle wheels and sometimes have foot straps. The bicycle wheels allow the rider to go much faster than your average low-to-the-ground skateboard.
The Acorn, a local Agoura Hills paper, reports that “Schwartz is a 2001 graduate of Agoura High School who became a professional in-line downhill speed skater and pro street luger. He was studying criminal law at UCLA.”

“Cuts and bruises every day, because I like to luge each and every way. If you dont know what luging is, it is an increadibly insane sport. Please don't crash, or death is my last resort. Lying on your back at 80 M.P.H with only my shoes as my breaks. For me thats what it takes. If you make the wrong turn then your in for a treat. Goodbye Mother, Goodbye Father, scrape my bones off the street. just wants to chill with fun and loyal friends without any drama. I'm in school becoming a Lawyer before I break every bone in my body. I also enjoy Surfing, Free style motocross, Rock Climbing, Camping, Speed Skating Street Lugeing, Off Roading, Exploring, Scubing Diving, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Snowboarding, Flying, Dirtbiking, Going really FAST, DOing stuping things that make people laugh and Partying and havivg Fun. ..”
And on LocalFuckbook, Schwartz wrote in his About Me section: “Pro skater in 3 sports, super active awesome endurance, I travel all over the world for skating competitions.”
His Facebook profile says he was employed by the International Gravity Sports Association, or “the world sanctioning body of skateboard and street luge racing.”
Schwartz' deadly collision this morning occurred in the 6000 block of Lake Lidero Drive.
