The 40th annual Chinatown Firecracker Run took place bright and early in downtown Chinatown on Sunday, Feb. 25. As usual, to kick off the race with a bang, more than 100,000 firecrackers were ignited in unison, creating a flurry of fire and smoke. There also was a dragon dance, the perfect way to start off any race. All photography by Shane Lopes
