2-Year-Old Child Hurt in Two-Vehicle Collision near Niles Street

BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 12, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a child was severely injured in a 2-car accident on King Street.

Officers responded to the scene around 12:30 p.m., at the intersection of King Street and Niles Street in the city of Bakersfield after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

Per reports, the driver of a westbound sedan struck a pickup-truck that was traveling in the same direction on Niles Street. In addition, the sedan also struck the base of a utility pole.

Emergency crews discovered a toddler suffering from serious injuries in a forward-facing child safety seat inside the sedan. Medics transported the 2-year-old child to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
