6-Year-Old Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run Accident near Castro Valley Boulevard

CASTRO VALLEY, CA (October 31, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, a 6-year-old boy sustained injuries in a pedestrian hit-and-run on Nunes Avenue.

Police responded to the scene around 5:00 p.m., near Castro Valley Boulevard on October 25th.

Officers say the child was crossing the street with a sibling, heading to a karate studio. Meanwhile, a white SUV was making a turn from Castro Valley Boulevard onto Nunes Avenue when they struck the child.

Following the collision, the SUV left the scene without rendering aid to the victim.

When emergency crews arrived, they transported the 6-year-old boy to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, no further information has been provided regarding the hit-and-run on Nunes Avenue. Police ask that any witnesses to the collision contact the California Highway Patrol at 510-581-9028.
