MENIFEE, CA (December 7, 2022) – Late Wednesday afternoon, a child sustained injuries in an electric bicycle collision on Newport Road.

Dispatchers responded to the scene on November 30th, around 4:00 p.m., near Westlink Drive.

According to reports, the driver of a Chevrolet Traverse was heading south on Westlink, preparing to turn right onto Newport Road. A boy, headed east on an electric bicycle on Newport Road, made a turn onto the southbound Westlink Drive sidewalk. The Chevrolet then struck the young boy as he drove through the intersection. The impact of the collision caused the boy to sustain serious injuries.

Upon impact, the driver immediately stopped and called for the authorities.

Paramedics transported the boy to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, driver of the involved vehicle did not suffer any injuries.
