5-Year-Old Victim Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Crash near North West Avenue

FRESNO, CA (December 14, 2022) – Thursday evening, a pedestrian collision on Ashlan Avenue left a juvenile with serious injuries. 

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m., near North West Avenue. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

According to the investigators, the driver of a vehicle struck a child crossing with his family against a crossing sign. 

Eventually, paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the 5-year-old child to a hospital after suffering from significant injuries. 

Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene of the incident and cooperated with authorities. Officers said the mother and her other child escaped unharmed.
