8-Year-Old Girl Dies in ATV Collision near Forest Service Road 99
FOREST LAKES, AZ (September 9, 2022) – Late Sunday morning, a crash near Heber Wildcat Road claimed the life of an 8-year-old child.
The incident happened on September 4th, just after 11:00 a.m. involving an all-terrain vehicle.
According to police, an ATV crashed in the Forest Lakes area and seriously injured two 8-year-old girls and two 14-year-old girls.
Emergency crews arrived and performed CPR on one of the 8-year-old girls. However, despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, medics airlifted the other three girls to Phoenix Children’s Hospital for treatment of their injuries. All the children were from the Phoenix area. At this time, their identities have not been released to the public.
Currently, no other details are available regarding the crash near Heber Wildcat Road. At this time, Coconino County Sheriff’s office continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident.
