Siran BabayanChicken tenders will be the poultry of choice at the first TenderFest this Friday. Co-organized by John Terzian’s H. Wood Group hospitality company and Off the Menu app — which has hosted similar burger, pizza and chicken wings events in the past — the festival will elevate the humble bar food and appetizer as restaurants Raising Cane’s, Delilah, Fuku, Hot Motha Clucker and Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken serve their versions of the fried, juicy bird in all sizes, colors and crispiness, accompanied by, of course, dipping sauces and beer. (VIP guests get to eat from Dave’s Hot Chicken, too.)
TenderFest
A fun component to the new food festival is the addition of the ‘conTENDER competition’ which will see culinary icons battle for tender supremacy judged by Johnny Zone, Ludo Lefebvre and others. Chefs Nancy Silverton, Wolfgang Puck, Chris Oh and Timothy Hollingsworth will battle it out for the grand prize of $25,000 going to the charity of their choice and bragging rights of “Best Tenders in Los Angeles”
Off the Menu is a food and experience community centered around discovering secret menu items from new and trending restaurants daily through their mobile app. Members enjoy one complimentary secret menu item per day at curated establishments throughout Los Angeles. The company also hosts pop-ups, chef collaborations and food events on a monthly basis.
