The mood was excitement as Hollywood's first Chick-fil-A opened its doors this morning. Fans had camped out overnight to be part of the First 100 and receive one free Chick-fil-A meal per week for a year.

Though there were rumors that activists upset over the chain's support for “traditional family values” (read: opposition to gay marriage) would show up at the opening, no protests had materialized by 7 a.m. Indeed, if you came looking for protesters or social justice, you were more likely to find news vans, transplanted Southerners aching for a taste of their favorite chicken sandwich and skeevy meth-heads. (Welcome to Hollywood, Chick-fil-A.)

The Southern fried chicken chain has been expanding in California over the past few years, and the location at Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue is only its second outpost within the city of Los Angeles.
