Chef Andrew Molen’s career is on fire, the handsome chef with sparkling blue eyes is settling into his 7th restaurant as an executive chef. Shelter island’s Isola Restaurant where he will be putting a modern twist on classic dishes… The gorgeous island that sits between Sag Harbor and Greenport, Long Island which is reachable only by ferry. The island is full of charming homes and farms & has an amazing golf course.

Andrew’s story in the kitchen begins with his mother, Sandra Arcara. Sandra owned a trendy Mexican Californian restaurant on the Upper East Side where for many years Andrew learned his basics including washing dishes at the age of fourteen. Sandra is passionate about their storied family history which begins in Northern California in 1821 when the King of Spain granted the family 43 thousand acres (about twice the area of Manhattan) for bravery during the many wars fought by their illustrious ancestor for the Spanish crown. The mother and son duo are so close, they are even writing a cookbook together covering 150 years of family recipes and history.

While Andrew did not attend Culinary School, he did apprentice under several top chefs including Jean George and Todd English with whom he worked on many projects throughout the years.

His three other restaurants are at Fox Run Golf Course in Ludlow, Vermont including: Culcuttas — Overlooking the greens and Okemo Mountain with live entertainment on weekends, Alta Tuscan Grill — with mouthwatering Italian Specialties and “Off the Rails” — The casual pizza restaurant.

Fox Run is a premier New England Golf Course with six acres offering golfers an opportunity to practice on grass tees or mats. They have a putting green, a pitching area, and several manicured practice bunkers in their chipping area.

Andrew does private events as well including cooking at the Masters in Augusta, Georgia this year.  In the summer you can find him cooking at many top celebrity events in the Hamptons with event company Revel Rouge for such luminaries as Don Lemon, Countess Luann and the rest of the cast of RHONY.
