Cheap Trick and BOC Join Forces: This is quite the double bill in Costa Mesa. Two larger than life rock bands will get together at the Pacific Amphitheatre, right next to the OC Fair. We were there recently for the X/Los Lobos/Blasters gig, and the outdoor venue has everything running smoothly and safely in the face of the Delta surge.

Power-pop legends Cheap Trick released the In Another World album earlier this year. Blue Oyster Cult put out the The Symbol Remains album a year ago. So both have new material to draw from, though we’re sure we’ll still get some “Surrender” and “Don’t Fear the Reaper.”

Cheap Trick and BOC Join Forces: The event takes place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11 at the Pacific Amphitheatre.
