Hollywood was buzzing with excitement as the stars gathered for the premiere of Charlie Day’s new film, “Fool’s Paradise,” at the legendary TCL Chinese Theatre followed by a fabulous afterparty at the world famous Yamashiro Hollywood on Tuesday, May 9th. The film, which marks Day’s directorial debut, is a dark comedy that revolves around a mental health patient who is thrown into the hands of an unsuccessful publicist and is struck by the blinding lights of Hollywood celebrity life.
Charlie Day is a genius actor and comedian that is notable for his character in the Horrible Bosses (2011) movies, The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) and most of all for his major role in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Day, who wrote, directed, and starred in the film, arrived at the premiere with his wife, actress Mary Elizabeth Ellis, by his side. The couple looked stunning as they posed for photos on the red carpet alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest stars including Day’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-stars, Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson.
The highly acclaimed cast of the film includes Kate Beckingsale of the Underworld (2003) films, Ken Jeong from TV series Community (2009-2015) and The Hangover (2009) trilogy, John Malkovich from Red (2010) and Con Air (1997), Ted Lasso (2020-2023) star Jason Sudeikis, The Grand Budapest Hotel’s (2014) Adrien Brody, Arrested Development (2003-2019) star Jason Bateman, Katherine McNamara of the Shadowhunters (2016-2019) TV series, Day’s It’s Always Sunny co-star Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and rapper Common, among many other major Hollywood stars.
Yamashiro Hollywood, the stunning Japanese-inspired restaurant and event space with breathtaking views of the city, welcomed guests with open arms and did a wonderful job of hosting the grand event. The afterparty was the perfect cap to a truly magical evening and had all of the stars mingling, enjoying drinks and mouth watering appetizers.
As the ideal location for hosting events such as movie premieres and after parties, Yamashiro proved itself to be the perfect choice to celebrate the premiere of Fool’s Paradise. The restaurant offered a one-of-a-kind menu of assorted sushi plates, American wagyu skewers, vegetable yakisoba, and various other appetizers. With its impressive displays, including a sushi station, a wok station for yakisoba, and a binchotan charcoal grill for skewers, Yamashiro truly blew the guests away with its incredible features and delectable dishes. With its stunning view of the gorgeous Los Angeles skyline and exceptional Japanese-fusion cuisine, there isn’t a single place that could have celebrated Day’s talent and brilliance better.
Day’s film is already generating buzz and critical acclaim, and it’s clear that he has a bright future ahead of him as a filmmaker. Congratulations to Charlie Day on his successful premiere and to Yamashiro Hollywood for hosting the special event of a lifetime!
