The rumors of the death of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater were greatly exaggered. To prove it, we attended Ambassador of Americana Charles Phoenix's sold-out evening at the Bob Baker Theater on Sunday, July 24. The Bob Baker Marionettes performed some of our favorite classic routines, including the flapper dodo bird doing the Charleston with her dapper black crow boyfriend, plus the black-light skeleton revue, the purple people eater and Dracula. After the show we had cake, lots and lots of delicious cake, from Charles Phoenix's test kitchen.
The Bob Baker Marionette Theater is open on Saturday and Sunday each week, with weekday performances available at 10:30 a.m. for those who just can't wait for the weekend and want the whole theater to themselves.
