Bicycle-Auto Collision Near Guy West Bridge Kills 49-Year-Old Man

SACRAMENTO, CA (June 1, 2023) – Late Saturday morning, a bicycle crash on Sacramento State’s Campus took the life of Charles Anthony Carson. The campus police responded to the collision around 11:40 a.m. at University State Drive near Sequoia Hall, north of Guy West Bridge. Upon arrival, officers located a male bicyclist suffering from major injuries. Tragically, the first responders declared the man dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed at the site of the incident and cooperated with the investigators. Later, the Sacramento County Coroner’s office identified the deceased bicyclist as 49-year-old Charles Anthony Carson of Sacramento. At this time, the department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit is handling the investigation.
