72-Year-Old Woman Killed in Pedestrian Collision North El Burrito Avenue

TUCSON, AZ (February 13, 2023) – Friday night, Charlene Rose Elich was killed in a pedestrian accident on West Miracle Mile.

Authorities responded to the scene around 7:00 p.m., near North El Burrito Avenue on February 3rd.

Per reports, 72-year-old Elich attempted to cross from southbound West Miracle Nile to the north when she was struck by a westbound gray 1996 Honda Accord.

Upon impact, the Honda driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Following preliminary duties, deputies from the Impaired Driver Enforcement Unit said that the driver showed no signs of intoxication.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced 72-year-old Elich dead at the scene. After an assessment, officers say she was impaired at the time.

At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway.
