The LA Weekly recently nabbed a copy of a television broadcast by Spanish language station Channel 22

that details the killing spree attributed to the Grim Sleeper – the

longest operating serial killer west of the Mississippi. The broadcast,

which aired in early January, gives us credit for breaking

the story, last August, that an elusive serial killer, linked to 11

slayings, has been stalking mostly women along the Western Avenue

corridor in South Los Angeles since 1985 — and that he struck again on

January 1, 2007. The Los Angeles Times, which published its story the following day, merely gave the Weekly credit for reporting the latest victim, 25-year-old Janecia Peters.
