Truck Driver Pronounced Dead after Single-Vehicle Collision near Claude

ARMSTRONG COUNTY, TX (September 4, 2024)Cesar Lopez-Delgadillo died Tuesday afternoon, in a drilling truck crash on northbound Highway 207.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m., about 22 miles south of Claude on August 20th.

When troopers arrived, they discovered a 2007 Atlas Copco RD20, a water well drilling truck weighing over 80,000 pounds, that had fallen into the canyon.

The investigation revealed that the driver, Lopez-Delgadillo, lost control of the truck and attempted to jump out before the vehicle crashed.

Due to the severity of his injuries, the Armstrong County Justice of the Peace pronounced Lopez-Delgadillo dead at the scene.
