The CDC revealed adverse effects from fully vaccinated people, saying 5,800 still tested positive for COVID-19, along with 74 deaths and 396 hospitalizations, according to CNN.

About 77 million people in the U.S. have been fully vaccinated, which requires a two week wait period after a final dose, meaning the percentage of those who contracted the virus is less than 0.007%

“So far, about 5,800 breakthrough cases have been reported to CDC. To date, no unexpected patterns have been identified in case demographics or vaccine characteristics,” the CDC told CNN.

Of the 5,800 positive cases, 65% came from women and 40% of people were over the age of 60.

Neither COVID-19 vaccine had 100% efficacy in U.S. trials as Pfizer was reportedly 95% effective, Moderna 94% effective and Johnson & Johnson 77% effective.

It was previously believed that the vaccines carried 100% effectiveness against hospitalizations and death, but live data now shows that is not the case.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said that breakthrough cases were inevitable as the vaccines were not 100% effective, but the percentages will still be very low.
