If you took a 6,400-mile journey from the Philippines aboard a ship without proper food or water, how long would you last?

Pinay the cat is just fine, say L.A. County Department of Animal Care and Control officials. The feline was discovered in a container that had come all the way from Manila:

The department said this week that the 4-year-old “domestic short-haired cat” was found in the container at its final destination, a business in the City of Industry, on July 16.

The feline needs some care before it's released to a good family, officials say. But that will eventually happen:

Pinay is doing well at the County of Los Angeles — Baldwin Park Animal Care Center and will be in the Department's care until she is ready for adoption; however, potential adopters or foster families should have considerable experience dealing with skittish cats. Pinay has been through a lot and needs a calm, loving family to help her transition.
