(Updated: The pair was reportedly found in the area shortly after 5 p.m. after a resident reported they asked him for clothes).

Sheriff's deputies are searching the Castaic area for two inmates who escaped overnight from the North County Correctional Facility.

Winder Barrios (left) and Jose Aldana (right), both 24, were due in court today for their armed robbery trial. If convicted, they face more than 10 years in prison.

Sheriff's officials say they were working at a kitchen loading dock, and may have escaped shortly after 1 a.m. They turned up missing at the 3:15 a.m. count.

The pair were arrested for robbery on April 2, 2009, by LAPD's Hollywood division. Barrios is from L.A. and Aldana is from Van Nuys.

Commuters on the Golden State (5) Freeway are being told not to pick up hitchhikers. And the Sheriff's Department also recommends that residents in the area lock their doors and windows and be on the lookout for anything suspicious.
