Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Blythe Kills One Person

BLYTHE, CA (June 18, 2021) – Late Sunday night, 37-year-old Casey Van Mersbergen was killed in a pedestrian accident on Interstate 10.

According to reports, the accident happened around 11:50 p.m., on the eastbound lanes. Officers arrived just west of Lovekin Boulevard.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead shortly after. Furthermore, witnesses claimed that a blue Ford SUV struck the victim near the center divider.

Later on, the coroner’s office identified the deceased patient as 37-year-old Casey Van Mersbergen of El Mirage, Arizona.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the collision and the identity of the involved driver remains unclear.
