Wait and wonder no more. Casa Azul Cantina, which replaced Tengu in Westwood, will open on January 2nd.

Owned by restaurateur and chef Vicente Del Rio, the man behind the two Frida restaurants (Beverly Hills, Glendale) and Frida Tacos on Melrose, the kitchen will be overseen by executive chefs Orlando Candanoza and Oswaldo Robles.

The menu will feature winter sopas, botanas like queso fundido, shrimp grilled in a lime serrano sauce, ribeye tacos and chicken mole poblano.

Casa Azul will also have a full cocktail menu including margaritas, micheladas and a list of list of nearly 70 tequilas.

The restaurant will serve lunch from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily and dinner until 10 p.m. most days and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
