65-Year-Old Pilot Hurt after Small Plane Crashes into SUV near Interstate 8

EL CAJON (August 24, 2022) – On Thursday, authorities identified Carrie Zub as the driver involved in a plane crash near Greenfield Drive.

The incident happened on August 18th at around 10:36 a.m. involving a Cessna 195 Aircraft and an SUV.

Police said that the pilot suffered major injuries and was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital, according to El Cajon authorities.

The plane reportedly struck the front of a white Hyundai SUV before crashing onto the roadway. The driver, identified as Carrie Zub, and her dog were not injured in the collision.

Furthermore, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Meanwhile, an active investigation into the plane crash is currently underway.
