Carolyn Lovett, 55, was gunned down around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 16 in the 3000 block of 11th Avenue. The shooter has been identified as Lovett's roommate and friend Lloyd Wade. Lovett had moved into the home with Wade temporarily.

Police said Lovett had returned to the house after an argument with Wade. When she returned the two started arguing again in the front yard of Wade's house. During the fight, Wade pulled out a hand gun and shot Lovett in the head. When she hit the ground he shot her once more in the head and went back inside the house while Lovett lay mortally wounded outside.

She was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. Detectives are looking into the possibility that the two were involved in a business dispute.

Anyone with information about the shooting should contact LAPD Southwest Division detectives at (213) 485-2582.
