Woman Dead, Two Injured in Collision near Renfro Road in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 29, 2021) – A crash on Stockdale Highway claimed the life of Carmen Romero Vidal Friday morning.

The crash happened after a Honda Civic collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Stockdale Highway and Renfro Road.

In total, paramedics transported three patients to a hospital for serious injuries. However, one passenger from the Honda succumbed to her injuries.

Later, the Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased victim as 23-year-old Carmen Romero Vidal, of Bakersfield.

The surrounding area was closed for a brief time during cleanup duties, but has has reopened. Investigators currently believe that speeding contributed to the fatal accident.

At this time, Bakersfield Officials are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact BPD at 661-327-7111.
