Carl's Jr., the company that brought us porny Padma Laskshmi, has a new form of titillation on the horizon. This Wednesday the restaurant will roll out its strawberry Pop-Tart ice cream sandwich nationwide. The dessert had been in testing in certain SoCal locations, but the response was so overwhelmingly positive, the fast food chain decided to go national.

It's partially Jimmy Kimmel's fault. After hearing about the prototype, Kimmel brought it up in his April 22 monologue, asking “Is Carl's Jr. reading my dream journal?” Nation's Restaurant News reports that by the time Kimmel mentioned the dessert, the test was over and viewers were disappointed to find that they couldn't get one.

The sandwich consists of hand-scooped vanilla ice cream between a halved strawberry Pop-Tart. For a limited time, it will come free with a Super Bacon Cheeseburger combination meal — because what do you need after eating something called a “super bacon cheeseburger” but a squillion more empty calories?. You'll be able to buy it separately for $1.49.
