36-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Accident on 170 Freeway
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA (June 6, 2022) – Tuesday night, 36-year-old Carlos Gonzalez died in a pedestrian crash on Victory Boulevard.
Authorities responded to the scene on the northbound lanes of 170 freeway near Victory Boulevard around 10:30 p.m.
Police said Joseph Avalos, a member of a Crisis Response Team of Mayor Eric Garcetti, drove the involved vehicle. Eventually, officers arrived at the scene and pronounced Gonzalez dead due to the extent of his injuries.
Additionally, Avalos suffered severe injuries at the crash and paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment. The cause and factors leading up to the fatal pedestrian collision are still unknown at this time.
Meanwhile, both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
An active investigation into the crash is still currently underway. Once available, further details will be provided about the deadly accident on Victory Boulevard.
