76-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed in Collision near 37th Avenue

PHOENIX, AZ (April 29, 2022) – Wednesday evening, 76-year-old Carlos Gonzalez died in a hit-and-run on Glendale Avenue.

The accident happened along Glendale Avenue, near 37th Avenue, around 8:00 p.m. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

First responders say they discovered Gonzalez unconscious on the road. Eventually, medics transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Moreover, investigators say the involved driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the pedestrian.

Crews closed the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Although, authorities later reopened to the road to moving traffic.

At this time, an active investigation into the hit-and-run pedestrian crash is still currently underway. No further details have been provided.
