If you have a quasi-Entourage sensibility and are looking for a more luxurious sports-bar experience, or even just a higher-tech one, look no further: Capitol City Sports Restaurant and Grille is officially open in the Cahuenga Corridor. Brainchild of former NY prosecutor Curtis Nysmith and noted L.A.-based architectural firm, TAG FRONT, Capitol City is a complete reimagining of the classic sports bar.

Nysmith spared no expenses when remodeling the former GOA Nightclub space, and Capitol City boasts a list of features that read like a resume: a gastropub menu with locavore daily specials developed by Chef Shad Davis, formerly of the Belmont; 45 plasma televisions and one enormous 14 by 8 foot Hi-Def screen with individual wireless speakers at each table; and a full-service 30-foot long bar with 30 types of bottled and draught beer; and full liquor service; and an indoor/outdoor front dining area — the list goes on. And on and on.

But Nysmith's focus here is an anything and everything you need kind of comfort. A place to watch the game, or not. A place to lounge, eat, and drink. And now with tomorrow's launch of Ladies' nights, weekly events on the outdoor lounge with $4 Veev cocktails from 9 p.m. 'til closing, it's lady friendly too. Though officially, it's now lady friendlier.

Capitol City: 1615 N. Cahuenga Blvd., L.A. (323) 465-1750.
