The inaugural 420 Games took place in Santa Monica on Saturday, March 26. Bringing in more than 1,700 attendees, the 420 Games' goal is to destigmatize cannabis and to show that cannabis users are not “lazy, unmotivated stoners.” The Games included a 4.2 mile-race encouraging attendees to walk, run, bike and skateboard “the Extra Mile for Cannabis,” plus beer tasting, music, educational speeches, stand-up comedy, and industry sponsors and exhibitors. Celebrity activists included UFC fighter Kyle Kingsbury and former NFL running back Ricky Williams. An evening after-party at the V Lounge offered medical samplings and live music from The Kyle Turley Band and Pato Banton. All photos by Kelsee Becker
