Caltrans Worker Killed While Working along 10 Freeway in Ontario

ONTARIO, CA ( August 11, 2021 ) – Friday night, July 30, a Caltrans worker was killed on the 10 freeway when a suspected DUI driver struck him.

The incident occurred at around 11 p.m. between the off-ramps of Archibald and Vineyard avenues, as per the report.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota sedan suddenly swerved into orange cones, striking one of the workers conducting maintenance.

The Toyota driver attempted to flee the scene, but good samaritans prevented an escape. Finally, authorities arrived and apprehended the suspect.

Moreover, the driver was arrested under suspicion of DUI.

More details will be made available as they are released to the public.

The victim’s identity has not been released since the next of kin has not been notified.

Meanwhile, the crash is under investigation.
