1 Killed after Fatal Hit-and-Run on Highway 99

SACRAMENTO, CA (July 28, 2021) – A Caltrans Subcontractor tragically died Monday night after a car hit-and-run on Highway 99.

The incident occurred on Highway 99 near Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard around 9:55 p.m. on July 26.

According to reports, a Ford F-150 truck from the 2015-2018 model year sped onto the shoulder and struck the worker, who was at the time putting up construction detour signs.

After that, the motorist drove away from the accident scene. The truck’s right-hand side, according to authorities, should be damaged.

Officers responding to the scene discovered the Caltrans Subcontractor’s body underneath a trailer.
