Meg Whitman

Remember the teachable moment we had when someone on Jerry Brown's staff called Meg Whitman a whore?

Well, forget that, because the president of California NOW just called Meg Whitman a “political whore.”

According to state chapter president Patty Bellasalma, “Meg Whitman could be described as a 'political whore.' Yes, that's an accurate statement.”

To recap: Calling Meg Whitman a whore is hate speech and counts as a firing offense. Calling her a political whore is accurate and defensible.

We'll pause for moment so you can add that to your employee handbook.

Done? OK, so what if you meant to say that she was a political whore, but you were pressed for time and just said “whore”? Is there any leeway there, if it's a first offense? Not according to NOW. But you can have an hour to clean out your desk.

Glad we got that straight.
