A Tracy, California, food supplier has recalled 64,000 pounds of chicken and pork products because some broccoli in the products was found to be contaminated with Listeria, the Associated Press reports.

The 10 varieties of premade foods, which include “Raley's” rice bowls and pasta dishes and “Taylor Farms” salad kits and alfredo snacks, were found to be contaminated after routine testing, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The products were made by Taylor Farms Pacific between Feb. 6, 2011, and Feb. 23, 2011, and shipped to Arizona, California, Colorado and Wyoming. Recalled items have the numbers “P-34013” or “EST. 34013.” The products were sold at Vons, Pavilions and Safeway.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause foodborne illness in a person who eats a food item contaminated with it. Symptoms of infection may include fever, muscle aches and gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea or diarrhea. Listeria infections can cause severe and sometimes fatal illnesses in young children, the elderly and those with frail immune systems.

The USDA said no one has complained of illness from the Taylor Foods recall yet, but the agency has classified the health risks associated with the recall as “high.” If consumers think they may have become sick after coming in contact with the recalled food, they should see a healthcare provider, the USDA said.

Consumers are advised to check their fridges and if they have any of the products, to throw them out immediately. If you have questions, call the Taylor Farms Response Center at (209) 835-6300, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
