The California license plate has been redesigned. Conceptually, anyway. Check out this piece by monster artist Stefan Bucher. The redesigned license plate was commissioned by Fast Company (more info at Stefan's blog here). It is a continuation of the work Bucher did for GOOD Design, where artists were asked to solve a quintessential Los Angeles problem, which in GOOD's words, include: “Tacos, Traffic, Ugliness, Water, Pollution, Isolation, and Acts of God, respectively.”

While I'm not sure how tacos are problematic, traffic is certainly sucky in LA. We might as well have some fun license plates to stare at as we inch along on our city's freeways.

Stefan, one question though: Where do you put the registration sticker? Cops need them to know when to give us tickets.
